It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a very dear friend, Vice President of READ Lakeland, Kiss the Pig Winner, and tutor, Dax Gingras. While Dax may physically no longer be with us, the lasting impression he made on everyone's hearts will live on forever. Dax was the BEST! He always made us laugh and taught us so much about living life to the fullest while facing brain cancer. He was the most giving person, always willing to lend a hand, and his perseverance was admirable. It was an honor and a privilege to know Dax. He will be sorely missed. This beautiful passage sums up Dax and we wanted to share it with you:
"The Measure of A Man- Not how did he die? But how did he live? Not what did he gain? But what did he give? These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not what was his station? But had he a heart? And how did he play his God-given part? Was he ever ready with the word of good cheer to bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what was his church? Nor what was his creed. But had he befriended those really in need? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say? But how many were sorry when he passed away?"
Rest in peace, Dax. We will miss you forever.
Love, your friends at READ Lakeland
